TipLink for Stream Deck

Connect TipLink to your Stream Deck and take control of your broadcast. Whether you are VTubing, gaming or ASMR'ing, this puts your alerts, platforms and overlay on the keys in front of you. Press a key to fire an alert. Glance at a key to see whether Twitch is actually connected. Hold a whole stream's worth of controls on one page without alt-tabbing out of OBS.

Keys are live, not just buttons. A platform key shows the real connection state, a widget key shows whether the widget is really on screen, and a goal key counts up as tips arrive - because TipLink pushes changes to the plugin rather than the plugin asking every few seconds.

Install It​

The plugin is free to download and install from the Elgato Marketplace.

  1. Open the TipLink plugin page and click Download.
  2. Double-click the downloaded .streamDeckPlugin file. The Stream Deck app installs it and asks you to confirm.
  3. The TipLink category appears in the actions list on the right of the Stream Deck app.

Installing the plugin costs nothing, but it only does anything alongside TipLink itself, which is paid. There is a free trial - see Licensing Options and the feature list.

What You Need​

TipLinkv1.20.0 or newer, licensed or on trial. The Control API the plugin talks to did not exist before that.
Stream Deck software7.1 or newer, on Windows 10+ or macOS 12+.
HardwareOptional. The plugin runs against the virtual device in the Stream Deck app, so you can set it all up with no deck attached.
Same computerThe plugin only reaches TipLink on 127.0.0.1, so both must run on the same PC.
No hardware needed to try it

The Stream Deck app's virtual device takes TipLink keys exactly as a physical deck does. If you are not sure the plugin is for you, set it up there first.

Keys only

All six actions are key actions. They go on any Stream Deck key, but not on the dials or the touch strip of a Stream Deck +.

Set It Up​

Two steps, and there is no token to copy anywhere.

  1. In TipLink: open Settings → Control API and turn on Enable Control API.
  2. In Stream Deck: drag any TipLink action onto a key, then click Connect to TipLink in its settings panel on the right. TipLink shows an authorization prompt - click Allow.

Pair once, not per key

The connection is shared by every TipLink key. Once one key is connected, all of them are - including keys you add later, and keys on your other profiles.

The Actions​

Trigger Alert

Run an alert's actions on press. The one that unlocks everything else.

Toggle Alert

Switch an alert or an alert set on and off, with the state on the key.

Platform Connection

Live connection status for one account, and connect or disconnect on press.

Widget Visibility

Show or hide an overlay widget, with live visibility on the key.

View Variable

A variable, goal or statistic on the key, updating as it changes.

Pause Queue

Stop everything reacting, without disconnecting or disabling anything.

Why Trigger Alert Matters Most​

The plugin has six actions, but Trigger Alert is the one that makes the other 30-odd worth having. It runs an alert's actions immediately, skipping the alert's own triggers and conditions - so anything TipLink can do becomes a key:

  • An OBS scene switch → put an OBS action in an alert, then trigger that alert from a key.
  • A VTube Studio hotkey, a Warudo blueprint, a PiShock buzz, an OSC parameter, a chat message, a sound, a text file write - same pattern.
  • A whole routine at once: one alert with eight actions in it is still one key.

You are not limited to what this plugin implements. You are limited to what TipLink can do, which is the whole Actions list - and TipLink reaches Twitch, Kick, StreamElements, Streamlabs, Fansly, VRChat, Warudo, VTube Studio and many more.

What a Key Looks Like​

On the keyWhat it means
The name of its alert, platform or widgetNormal. The plugin reads the name from TipLink and remembers it.
Pick alert / Pick platform / Pick widget / Pick sourceThe key has no target chosen yet. Open its settings.
OfflineTipLink is not running, or the Control API is off. Keys that know their target name show it above this.
Bad tokenAccess was revoked or the token is wrong. Reconnect from the key's settings.
A dimmed keyOff, disconnected or hidden. Bright is on, connected or visible.
?The alert, goal or variable the key points at no longer exists in TipLink.

Pressing a key that cannot do its job makes Stream Deck flash the ✗ badge. Pressing Trigger Alert successfully flashes ✓.

Security​

The Control API is bound to 127.0.0.1, so nothing outside your PC can reach it. Each app has to ask your permission before it can do anything, and the plugin is issued its own token rather than sharing one.

Revoke it any time from Settings → Connected Apps in TipLink, which drops the live connection straight away. See Settings for the full detail.
