YouTube Live

Connect a YouTube Live channel to TipLink to receive events like Super Chats, Memberships, and chat messages during your streams.

Reconnecting an existing account?

Simply follow the Set-up Instructions section again. You do not need to remove the account first.

YouTube Live is an active stream requirement

TipLink can only receive events when your YouTube channel is currently live. Events are not available when the channel is offline.

Set-up Instructions

1. Open TipLink and navigate to the Platforms page using the sidebar.

2. Click YouTube Live at the top of the page.

3. A popup will open within TipLink. Enter the YouTube Channel URL for the channel you want to monitor.

   Examples of accepted formats:

   • https://www.youtube.com/@YourChannelName
   • https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

4. Click Create Account and wait for TipLink to verify the channel.

   • If the URL is invalid or the channel cannot be found, an error message will appear.
   • If successful, the popup will close and your new account will appear in the list.

YouTube Live is now connected to TipLink!

Managing Your YouTube Live Account

1. Open TipLink and navigate to the Platforms page.
2. Find your YouTube account in the list and click the configure button (person + gear icon).

From here you can manage:

• Auto Connect — Enable this to automatically connect this account when TipLink starts.
• Excluded Events — Prevent specific event types from being recorded by TipLink.
• Delete Account — Permanently remove this account connection from TipLink.

Connecting Your Account

1. Open TipLink.
2. On the Home or Platforms page, click Connect next to your YouTube Live account.
3. TipLink will attempt to connect to your live stream.
   • If successful, the button will turn red and show Disconnect.
   • If the connection fails (e.g. you're not currently live), the button will remain green.

Not live yet?

You can connect an account before you go live, but events will not start arriving until you begin your YouTube live stream.

Supported Events

When connected and live, TipLink can receive the following event types from YouTube Live:

Event Type	Description
Super Chat	A viewer pays to pin a message
Super Sticker	A viewer sends a Super Sticker
New Member	A viewer starts a channel membership
Member Milestone	A member celebrates months of membership
Gift Membership	A member gifts memberships to others
Chat Message	A regular message in live chat

Removal Instructions

1. Open TipLink and navigate to the Platforms page.
2. Find your YouTube Live account and click the configure button (person + gear icon).
3. Click Delete Account in the top-right of the configuration window.
4. Confirm the removal when prompted.
