Settings

The Settings page is where you manage TipLink's global preferences and system options. Access it by clicking the gear icon (⚙️) in the left sidebar.

Backup & Import

This section lets you export and import all of your TipLink data — alerts, platforms, settings, events, and overlays — as a single backup file.

See the full guide: Exporting & Importing Data →

OptionWhat it does
Export Full BackupSaves all your TipLink data to a .json file
Import Full BackupReplaces all your current data with a backup file
warning

Importing a backup replaces all existing data. Export first if you want to keep anything.

Webhook API Settings

TipLink includes a built-in webhook server that lets external apps (like Discord bots, Home Assistant, or custom scripts) send events into TipLink.

SettingWhat it does
Enable Webhook API ServerTurns the webhook server on or off. Must be enabled before any webhook platform will receive events.
PortThe network port the webhook server listens on. Default is 3821. Only change this if another app is already using that port.
tip

After enabling the Webhook API server, you still need to create a Webhook platform on the Platforms page. See Using Webhooks →.

App Preferences

General TipLink behaviour settings.

SettingWhat it does
Pause Event QueueTemporarily stops all events from being processed. Events will still be received and stored, but no alerts will fire until you un-pause. Useful during testing.
Include Chat Messages in ActivityChat messages are hidden from the Activity page by default. Enable this to show them.
Countdown History LimitSets the maximum number of history entries stored for countdown variable timers. Default is 500.

Storage Management

This section shows you information about TipLink's local storage and provides tools to manage it.

OptionWhat it does
Unlock StorageReveals a button to permanently delete all stored events. Use this to free up disk space if your event history is large.
Clear All EventsPermanently deletes all stored event history. This cannot be undone.
danger

Clearing events is permanent. If you want to keep a record, use Export Full Backup first (which includes event history).

License Information

The Settings page also displays your current license status, including:

  • License type (Full License or Subscription)
  • Device binding status
  • Version information

Auto-saving

Most settings are saved automatically as you change them — there is no separate "Save" button for individual settings. A timestamp at the top of the page shows when changes were last saved.
